Her interpretation of Raag Charukeshi unfolded with emotive depth and intricate improvisations, captivating the audience and reaffirming her stature as one of the UK's leading Indian classical musicians. Panesar's musical journey, rooted in rigorous training under esteemed gurus, has led her to international acclaim, with performances that bridge traditional Indian ragas and contemporary sensibilities. About Raag Charukeshi:
Raag Charukeshi is a captivating raga in the Carnatic tradition, later adopted into Hindustani classical music. Known for its deep emotional range, it evokes moods of pathos, devotion, and introspection. Charukeshi is a sampoorna raga, meaning it uses all seven notes in both its ascending (Arohana) and descending (Avarohana) scales, with a distinct use of flat (komal) Ga, Dha, and Ni. Its structure allows for rich melodic exploration, making it a favourite among both vocalists and instrumentalists. When rendered with sensitivity, Charukeshi has the power to stir the soul, offering a hauntingly beautiful musical experience that lingers long after.
