The fourth episode of the popular IndianOil Now Hear Us monthly digital series features the supremely talented Carnatic flautist Sruthi Sagar. Sruthi is accompanied by Vittal Rangan on violin, Praveen Sparsh on mridangam and Sai Subramaniam on morsing. Sruthi begins his recital in Ragam Jayantasena with a composition entitled "Vinatasuta Vahana" by Tyagaraja. This is followed by the Harikeshanallur Muttiah Bhagavatar composition "Shri Mahabala" in Ragam Saranga Malhar. The main piece of Sruthi's performance is the beautiful "Gana Naya Desika" composed by Koteeswara Iyer in Ragam Rishabhapriya where all four musicians get an opportunity to exhibit their wonderful skills at their respective instruments. The concluding piece is in Ragam Yamuna Kalyani featuring a composition by Tanjavur Sankara Iyer entitled "Yamuna Nadi Karai. As a special bonus our cameras were able to capture the tail end of a lovely rehearsal session by Bharatanatyam dancer Shweta Prachande at the same venue where our musicians were to perform.
