Arshad Khan comes from a musical lineage, as he is the son of Ustad Allauddin Khan, a legendary figure in Indian classical music. In 2017 he played Raag Madhuvanti. Raag madhuvanti is a melodic framework or raga in Indian classical music. It is known for its soothing and romantic character, often associated with the late evening hours. Madhuvanti features a pentatonic scale with five notes, and it is a combination of the Poorvi and Bhairavi thaat. The raga allows for creative expression, enabling musicians to evoke emotions of longing, tenderness, and introspection through its distinct melodic phrases and ornamentations.
